OPERATING TIPS

SIZE SELECTION

Before buying and starting to wear a pair, try them on properly – an incorrect choice jeopardizes the health of your feet.

Choose shoes according to size and width, taking into account individual foot characteristics, as an improper size and shape can lead to problems such as shoe deformation, burst seams, and the appearance of cracks and creases. Choose shoes that do not press on you, especially in the toe area. Your foot should also feel free. It is important to try on shoes while standing; we also recommend walking around the store in them.

When ordering shoes online, use our size chart or consult with our specialist. It is also advisable to indicate the length of the foot, instep circumference, and ball of foot circumference with millimeter precision. This will allow us to verify the conformity of the shoe size you ordered.

PURPOSE

When choosing shoes, pay attention to their purpose. Dress shoes are intended for short-term wear, while athletic and walking shoes are for prolonged wear.

WEARING FREQUENCY

Change your shoes every 2–3 days, especially in wet weather. This will help your shoes maintain their appearance and shape for a long time, as well as dry naturally. For this, it is advisable to have several pairs of shoes for the season. Wear new shoes for a short time at first so that they can adapt to the shape of your foot.

PROTECTION

Before using new footwear, and also subsequently, the pair must be protected from moisture, dirt, technical salt, dust, and stains using special products.

Treat smooth leather with shoe cream. For treating velour, nubuck, and suede, use a special water- and dirt-repellent product. Choose professional shoe care products that are suitable for the required type of footwear. Avoid products that contain silicone. Quality shoes made of genuine leather are usually dyed with natural dyes, so they may partially transfer pigment under the influence of heat and moisture.

To prevent staining of stockings, socks, and feet during the first days of shoe use, we recommend treating the inside of the pair with a special aerosol, colorless shoe cream, or water-repellent product.

CARE

After each use, clean your shoes, removing dust and dirt. Washing any type of leather footwear is prohibited!

Dry wet shoes at room temperature, away from heating appliances and any other heat sources, avoiding direct sunlight. Before drying, fill the shoes with paper or use special devices (shoe trees, stretchers) to prevent deformation. Moisture will disappear from the shoes in approximately 20 hours. Periodically air out the pair in the fresh air to allow the leather to dry thoroughly.

FOOTWEAR

To avoid damaging the heel part, use a shoehorn when putting on shoes. When taking off shoes, do not step on the heel counter to prevent the sole from detaching.

Shoes with external straps and elastic bands have special places for gripping and putting them on; do not pull directly on the straps and elastic bands.

STORAGE

Shoes should be stored in a cardboard box, dust bag, or special cabinet at temperatures between +14 and +25 °С and relative humidity of 50–80%.

AND A FEW WORDS ABOUT OUR BAGS

Treat the leather your bag is made of as if it were your own skin. Clean it from dust and dirt, and moisturize it with creams when necessary. Pay special attention to the areas of the bag that you touch most often. And give the cream time to penetrate the leather. Your bag will surely appreciate it.

Use only professional alcohol-free care products and always read the instructions for use. You should not trust folk remedies.

Put aside all stiff brushes, they can scratch the surface.

Remember that natural smooth leather does not like water, so you should not give it water treatments; it is enough to use a damp flannel cloth. This advice does not apply to suede bags. They should not be exposed to moisture at all.

Store your bag filled with clean paper or natural fabric. Your bag should "breathe" both from the inside and the outside.

By carrying an overloaded bag, you risk deforming the product, so monitor its weight and take care of your back.

HVÓYA FOOTWEAR AND BAG CARE INSTRUCTIONS

SMOOTH SKIN

Wipe your favorite smooth leather items with a cotton cloth moistened with soapy water, then dry thoroughly. Next, apply a small amount of cream to a cotton cloth and rub it into the leather in circular motions until the cream is fully absorbed. Try not to use colored cream when caring for bags, as it may stain your clothes when in contact with them.

Polish your shoes with a slightly damp cloth. Let them dry, then apply wax for extra shine and hydration. Take care of your belongings – and they will serve you longer.

SUEDE AND SPLIT LEATHER

Suede should be brushed with a special brush, moving it in one direction, and then a suede care spray should be applied. After that, brush the material in the opposite direction and spray the product again. Repeat the entire procedure again. To remove stains, you can use a special eraser for suede and nubuck.

Important: please note that suede and split leather velour in rich shades may (initially) transfer color to light-colored clothing they come into contact with.

Also, these materials cannot be exposed to water, so to prevent possible negative consequences from moisture exposure, be sure to use a water-repellent spray.

LACQUER

After wearing the shoes, clean the dirty surface with a damp cloth, then wipe it dry. Next, apply a special product for patent leather care, wipe the patent areas, and immediately after that, buff the pair to a shine with a flannel cloth. Patent leather shoes require special care as they cannot withstand temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. We recommend wearing such pairs in dry, warm weather and at temperatures no lower than +5 °C.

For your shoes to bring you joy every day and last a long time, follow these rules! You can always get additional information from our store consultants. We wish you pleasant and comfortable walking in our shoes!
